Evergy will be doing maintenance on their power lines causing the City of Girard to operate solely using our power plant engines. Starting Thursday September 28, 2023, at 9:00 p.m., we will disconnect our transmitting lines from Evergy and begin providing the city with our own electric. We will reconnect with Evergy at 7:00 a.m. Friday September 29, 2023.
We don’t anticipate any problems and most won’t notice any changes, but there is always the unexpected which can cause issues.
