Council Member 4th Ward
Elected: November 2019 to take office January 2020
I was born in Fort Scott, and have lived in numerous places including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tulsa, and the Kansas City area. I moved my family to Girard in 1994 because Southeast Kansas was the best place I had ever lived, and it remains such today. The people of the area make it great.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Baker University, the Harvard of the Mid West. I have served in the Army National Guard and Air National Guard. I retired as the Executive Director of the SEK Juvenile Detention Center in 2017, and currently work full time as the Library Manager at Girard High School and Middle School. I also serve as an Assistant Football, Basketball, and Baseball Coach for Girard High School and Middle School.
My wife Debra and I live in the 4th Ward. My two daughters Katlyn and MaCahla grew up in Girard. Deb grew up in Topeka and Pittsburg. Her son Marcus and daughter Nicole grew up with her in Pittsburg.
